My Evergoods Civic Access Sling 1L (or CAS1) just arrived today. Been eyeing a smaller bag for quite some time because I don’t need a 2L sling just to carry my phone, keys, and a few small things. So I pulled the trigger, and here it is.
Here’s what I think so far, straight off the first look.
Fabric Is Exactly What I Expected
Same 840D ballistic nylon as the CAS2 so no surprises there. Tight weave, slightly waxy, solid. Evergoods doesn’t cut corners on material and the CAS1 is no different. Consistent across the lineup which is reassuring.
Went with solution dyed black, but then again I only ever buy black. Looks sharper in person, as is usually the case with Evergoods.
It’s Small But Not Cheap Small
Compared to the CAS2 the size difference is obvious, but the CAS1 holds its own. It’s not a shrunken version of a bigger bag, it’s built for a specific job. The curved shape means it sits flat against your body, low profile, out of the way.
More Organised Than I Expected
For one litre I wasn’t expecting much organisation. But there’s a dedicated phone slot, a zippered security pocket behind that with two drop-in slots inside, one for cards and one for small things like AirPods, plus a key leash. Light coloured lining so you can actually see what’s in there. A lot going on for a small bag, in a good way.
Hardware Is Solid As Expected
YKK zipper, chunky and smooth. Buckle on the side keeps the front clean. Strap keeper so the tail stays tucked. Breathable back panel too.
Same hardware standard as the CAS2, no corners cut on the smaller bag.
Early Verdict
Just got it today so I haven’t taken it out yet. But first impressions are solid. Going to bring it to the gym and use it for a bit before writing a proper review. I’ll do a full comparison with the CAS2 in that one too.
